DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for construction monitoring of earthwork concrete work, and various other components of environmental remediation projects.
- Assist in identifying technical issues and approaches for evaluation.
- Assist in identifying technical issues and approaches for evaluation. Identify field conditions that differ from assumptions made in the design and construction documents.
- Assess whether constructed elements are in conformance with the design intent. Escalate management of change issues, differing field conditions, or non-conforming work with Lead Engineer in the office.
- Use of various geotechnical and environmental instrumentation and equipment. Perform field tests on soil and rock.
- Prepare detailed notes and take photographs to document the procedures used and observations made during field explorations programs and/or construction monitoring for use by supervisory or project personnel.
- Produce daily/weekly field reports including written reports with figures, photographs, and summary tables as required.
- Coordinate scheduling with contractors and subcontractors.
- Draft technical sections of project communications and reports.
- Adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans prepared for each project site.
- Participate in site safety briefings and audits by both contractors and Haley & Aldrich.
- Document safety observations on a daily basis (positive observations and concerns).
- Monitor the execution of field & lab testing activities completed by subcontractors.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Coordinate with internal Haley & Aldrich project team members on a daily basis.
- Communicate courteously and professionally with passing public and project stakeholders visiting the project site.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
