Reporting to the Strathcona Plant Manager, you will:
Optimize process performance by identifying opportunities to improve cycle time, yield, unit cost, product quality, safety and regulatory compliance across plant operations.
Monitor process conditions, instrumentation and critical equipment, collecting and analyzing operational data to support process stability and continuous improvement.

Investigate process, instrumentation and control system deviations, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to improve reliability and performance.

Support project scoping, operational assurance, commissioning and start-up activities while providing technical assurance for laboratory performance and reporting.

Required for Success
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
Ability to interpret process data, identify performance trends and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Advanced experience in processing, manufacturing, refining, smelting, petrochemical, energy or another large-scale industrial environment.
Post-secondary diploma in Process Technology, Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, Industrial Operations or a related discipline.
Experience using Microsoft Excel, PI ProcessBook, Human Machine Interface (HMI) and process monitoring systems to analyze performance, identify trends and support operational decision-making.
Helpful for Success
Knowledge of statistical analysis, process control principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
Exposure to programming, automation or process control systems.

Our Alberta facility is focused on results and for over 50 years we have been playing a part of the global aluminum industry. This facility is responsible for turning byproducts from oil refineries into key ingredients for one of our widely used metals. High quality green petroleum coke (GPC) is purchased from our partners and turned it into anode grade calcined coke for use in the aluminum smelting process.
