About the Role
Safesea Group is seeking a Technical Superintendent to oversee technical management and maintenance of assigned vessels. The role involves dry docking, budget management, regulatory compliance, and crew support.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the maintenance, repairs, and overall technical performance of assigned vessels
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate dry docking, major repairs, and maintenance schedules within budget and timeline
- Prepare and manage operational budgets for vessel maintenance, repairs, and procurement of spare parts
- Ensure vessels comply with international maritime regulations (ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS, etc.), class requirements, and company policies
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations and promote a culture of safety within the fleet
- Provide technical guidance and support to shipboard staff and ensure adequate training on new technologies and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular vessel inspections and audits to ensure technical integrity and compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Assist in the investigation of technical incidents and accidents, providing reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence
- Oversee procurement of spare parts, lubricants, and stores, ensuring cost effective and timely supply
- Maintain accurate records of vessel performance, technical incidents, and maintenance schedules, providing reports to management as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering
- Chief Engineer (COC Class 1) or equivalent seagoing experience preferred
- Minimum of 5 10 years of experience in technical management of ships
- Strong knowledge of ship repair, dry docking, and maintenance planning
- Familiarity with classification societies, flag state requirements, and international maritime regulations
- Strong problem solving, decision making, and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using ship management software and MS Office applications

Job Summary

- The role requires close coordination with vessel crews, ship owners, and relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with international regulations, class requirements, and company standards.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering.

- Strong knowledge of ship repair, dry docking, and maintenance planning.
- Familiarity with classification societies, flag state requirements, and international maritime regulations.
- Strong problem solving, decision making, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using ship management software and MS Office applications.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Experience in managing a fleet of vessels and working with multinational crew and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills for budget and cost control.
- Willingness to travel for ship inspections and attend dry dockings.
