Technical Specialist - Physical Chemical Testing

Job Responsibilities

• Lead Method Development activities pertaining to in particular difficult to test chemicals
• Trains and directs less experienced laboratory personnel by in developing and implementing training plans
• Able to review work of others for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness and soundness of technical judgement
• Sets up and performs a variety of studies/analyses using appropriate instrumentation with routine and non-routine methods
• Ability to conduct most processes/tasks in support of broad portfolio of study types
• Critically review study documentation and suggest changes where appropriate
• Provides input and participates in study meetings (ie pre-initiation meeting)
• Reviews own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment
• Deliver results within agreed timeframes, whilst recognising changes in priorities.
• Ability to write, review and revise standard SOPs
• Ability to prepare results and presentations based on the work performed
• Participate in internal method development projects, as appropriate and act as the department process owner as required

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry
