Technical Services Engineer - Propulsion

Job Purpose

Technical Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day technical assessment of aircraft power plants, including data collection, performance review, management reporting, corrective measures, and modifications.
• Support development of propulsion procedures, specifications, and Engineering Operational Standards.
• Review propulsion publications and regulations and optimize maintenance programs against operational and continuous airworthiness requirements.
• Use technical reports and performance data for root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, investigations, and corrective recommendations.
• Prepare reliability reports, define repair scopes and maintenance plans, and coordinate engine and APU removals, installations, and spare-engine management.
• Provide technical support to the MCC, manufacturers, and OEMs for troubleshooting, modifications, and required actions.

Compliance and Operations

• Review service bulletins and airworthiness directives, evaluate services, prepare business cases, and draft Engineering Orders.
• Partner with Projects, Warranty, Legal, and Finance on projects, initiatives, contracts, SLAs, feasibility studies, testing, and evaluations.
• Manage engine shop visits to monitor process flow and maintain contract and maintenance-policy benefits.
• Monitor engine oil consumption data to support ETOPS requirements and cost control.
• Partner with Finance to settle function-related invoices and support audits and closure of occurrence reports and audit findings.

Academic and Training Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in aircraft engineering, mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering, or an equivalent qualification is required.
• A related higher diploma or certificate combined with the needed experience and exposure may be accepted as an alternative.
• Training on engine and APU systems is required, with Airbus A320 training recommended.
• Project management, cost control, compliance, budgeting, and quality assurance certificates or training are advantageous.
• Proficiency with technology systems and tools, Microsoft Suite, MRO systems, and web search is required.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required.

Work Experience

• At least five years of collective aviation industry experience is required, including qualifying airline trainee or on-the-job training experience.
• Experience with Airbus A320 aircraft is highly desirable.
• Experience with aircraft airworthiness program requirements and regulations, including CAMO requirements, is required.
• Hands-on power plant and engine development experience, especially with CFM56/5B and APIC/GTCP 131-9A APUs, is required.
• Experience or exposure in engine and APU work scoping, engine shop-visit planning, and working with engine manufacturers is required.
• Understanding of aircraft planning and maintenance systems and their relationship to the aircraft maintenance program is required.
• Familiarity with civil aviation authority regulations, preferably GCAA, is preferred.
• Experience designing, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures, and operating manuals is required.
• Experience measuring performance against technical regulations, contracts, and SLAs is required.
