About the Role
Ubisoft's Quality Foundations team seeks a Lead Data Technical to define and evolve data foundations for analytics and AI. You will design scalable data architectures, lead technical decisions, and mentor teams.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects to design new data products and services
- Participate in implementing target data architecture and drive adoption across teams
- Serve as subject matter expert for data, data architectures, and data processing pipelines
- Provide technical leadership across Quality Foundations products regarding data storage, modeling, governance, and processing
- Define, maintain, and promote data standards and best practices
- Propose, review, and validate technical and architectural decisions through ADRs
- Actively contribute to development and delivery of high complexity initiatives
- Analyze and optimize performance, cost efficiency, reliability, and scalability of data systems
- Act as subject matter expert in relational and non relational database optimization
- Foster knowledge sharing, mentorship, and technical autonomy within data development teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of experience in software development or data engineering
- Significant experience designing and implementing large scale data platforms
- Experience in technical leadership, team coaching, or mentorship
- Strong expertise in SQL/NoSQL data modeling
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and Scala
- Experience with Medallion architectures and Lakehouse platforms (Databricks, Delta Lake)
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of data orchestration frameworks (Apache Airflow, Databricks Workflows)
- Knowledge of real time data streaming (Spark Structured Streaming)

- Quality Foundations (QF) develops cross functional products enhancing quality, observability, performance, and operations of Ubisoft games through data, analytics, and AI.
- The Lead Data Technical defines and evolves data foundations supporting QF's products.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with architects to design new data products and services.
- Participate in implementing target data architecture and drive adoption.
- Serve as subject matter expert for data, architectures, and pipelines.
- Provide technical leadership on data storage, modeling, governance, and processing.
- Define and promote data standards and best practices.
- Propose and validate technical decisions via Architecture Decision Records.
- Contribute to high complexity initiatives.
- Advise on technology directions and opportunities.
- Optimize performance, cost, reliability, and scalability of data systems.
- Act as expert in relational and non relational database optimization.
- Collaborate with development, analytics, AI, and operations teams.
- Ensure technical quality of data pipelines and promote monitoring best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in software development or data engineering.
- Significant experience designing large scale data platforms.
- Experience in technical leadership, coaching, or mentorship.
- Experience with distributed architectures and large scale data processing.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong expertise in large scale data solution development and SQL/NoSQL data modeling.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and Scala.
- Understanding of Medallion architectures and Lakehouse platforms (Databricks, Delta Lake).
- Experience designing configurable, environment agnostic solutions.
- Ability to design scalable, high performance, maintainable solutions.
- Experience documenting architectural decisions.
- Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure), Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of data orchestration (Apache Airflow, Databricks Workflows).
- Knowledge of real time streaming (Spark Structured Streaming).
- Knowledge of Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines.
- Understanding of machine learning and AI concepts.
