SUEZ is recruiting a Team Leader for Blackpool Transfer Station on Ashworth Road.
The role reports to the Area Supervisor and oversees the day-to-day operation of a busy HWRC and Transfer Station.
Compensation
- The role pays £13.80 per hour.
Schedule
- The position involves 47.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.
- Flexibility and overtime are required because operations run across seven days, including English Bank Holidays.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and routine maintenance of mobile plant equipment.
- Maximise recycling and diversion from landfill.
- Maintain compliance with legislation, company policies, health and safety regulations, and the site's environmental permit.
- Ensure paperwork is accurately completed and returned to the Administration Department daily, weekly, or monthly as required.
- Manage the correct use of the permit to work system.
- Book contractor loads out of the site.
- Travel for training and to other local sites for staff cover.
Requirements
- Broad knowledge of mobile plant and other equipment used in waste management and recycling.
- Mobile plant certification is desirable, although training may be provided.
- Ability to work within a team and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Understanding of safe waste handling and recycling practices is desirable.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
Work location
- The role is based at Blackpool Transfer Station, Ashworth Road, Blackpool, FY4 5LP.
- The position requires travel to training and other sites in the area for staff cover.
