About the Role
The British Council is hiring a Teaching Operations Assistant (Hourly Paid) in Riyadh, Khobar, or Jeddah. The role supports teaching centre operations, provides customer service, assists teachers with young learners, and handles administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
- Act as Young Learner Teaching Assistant to support teachers delivering classes to children
- Meet and greet students and coordinate customer flow during registration periods
- Answer first level enquiries face to face or by phone
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, archiving, and updating documents
- Monitor waiting lists and contact customers about new classes and schedule changes
- Prepare and print YL and adult student reports
- Add YL students and Modules to LMS and support parents with LMS issues
- Abide by British Council Safeguarding policy and monitor young learners for signs of distress
Requirements
- High School Certificate
- B1 level English
- B1 level Arabic
- Working/volunteering experience in customer facing role
- Intermediate command of MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Right to live and work in Saudi Arabia

Role Purpose
- To deliver high quality and efficient customer services to internal and external teaching centre customers.
- To support the Teaching Centre in the delivery of quality courses, especially Young Learners.
- To help the Operations team with administrative tasks ensuring day to day running of the teaching centre.
Main Accountabilities
- Acting as a Young Learner Teaching Assistant to support teachers delivering classes to children.
- Assisting teachers in young learner lessons, supervising young learners, and maintaining good classroom behaviour.
- Liaising with YL coordinator and operations team regarding absent students.
- Meeting and greeting students on the first day of courses each term.
- Coordinating customer flow during registration periods.
- Answering first level enquiries face to face or on the phones.
- Responding appropriately to email/letter enquiries.
- Working with Operations team to monitor waiting lists.
- Contacting customers about new classes and schedule changes.
- Ensuring BC tests, registration forms, class lists, registers, timetables are handled to agreed standards.
- Participating in marketing and promotion strategy by distributing surveys.
- Preparing and printing YL and adult student reports.
Person Specification
- High School Certificate (essential)
- University Degree or Diploma in any field (desirable)
- B1 level English (essential)
- B1 level Arabic (essential)
- Working/volunteering experience in customer facing role (essential)
- Intermediate command of MS Excel, Word and Outlook (desirable)
- Experience of working in an educational institution (desirable)
- Experience of working with children (desirable)
