Raymond James is seeking a Tax Consulting Manager to provide tax consulting expertise to financial advisors and clients, focusing on cross-border tax issues between Canada and the US.

Responsibilities
- Deliver tax consulting services for personal, corporate, trust, and estate clients of Raymond James and its affiliated companies in Canada and the US through client meetings and written analysis
- Partner effectively with investment advisory teams, trust company division trust officers, charitable foundation, insurance agents, tax preparation services, and financial planners to offer comprehensive planning solutions
- Respond to daily income tax planning and cross border tax questions in a concise and timely manner using current and suitable sources for research
- Assist with authoring client releasable educational materials on Canadian and cross border tax planning via written materials, presentations, and social media
- Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of the Income Tax Act, the Internal Revenue Code, and international income tax conventions
- Provide outstanding client service to financial advisors and their clients by enhancing the client experience
- Support financial planners with respect to technical tax inquiries and reviews of cross border financial plans
- Review advisor prepared marketing materials with tax content for accuracy and clarity
- Liaise with outside tax and legal professionals to assist with tax strategy implementation
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Completion of the CICA In Depth Tax Course, Part I, II and III or Master’s in Taxation
- Accounting designation (CPA) required with at least 7 years of public practice experience in US personal tax, Canadian personal tax, Canadian corporate and trust tax, and estate tax planning
- Experience building relationships through respect and authenticity, and collaborating with a diverse network of clients, prospects and business partners to create exceptional client experiences and solutions
- Experience identifying and resolving diverse, complex, and ambiguous issues in a timely and practical manner using exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills

How does the role impact the organization?
- Reporting to the Vice President, Tax Consulting, you will provide responsive and effective tax consulting expertise as ongoing support to our Private Client Group financial advisors and their clients.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or related field.
- Completion of the CICA In Depth Tax Course, Part I, II and III or Master’s in Taxation.
- Accounting designation (CPA) required with at least 7 years of public practice experience in US personal tax, Canadian personal tax, Canadian corporate and trust tax, and estate tax planning.
- US CPA designation would be an asset.
- Experience building relationships and collaborating with a diverse network.
- Experience identifying and resolving complex issues.
- Experience with IRS withholding tax forms, US and Canadian withholding tax, and US retirement plan rules would be an asset.
- CFP (F.Pl.) and/or TEP designation would be an asset.
- Bilingual (French and English) skills would be an asset.
- Successful recruit will be required to complete the US Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation (CRPC) or equivalent.
Salary Range
- CAD 120,000 140,000 annually, in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
