What You Will Do
As a Systems Engineering/Integration & Test Intern within the Space & Airborne Center, you will interface with the customers to develop CONOPS, system architecture, system requirements and manage qualification, verification and validation. Our center focuses on front end design and development as well as transitioning systems through integration and test to production. You will also perform functional / physical analysis, allocation, and trade studies.
You will support Radar Mode requirement development, engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support across the product lifecycle. Through Digital Transformation (DTx) you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development.
What You Will Learn
Support systems requirement development and analysis.
Support activities in our labs and document requirement verifications.
Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB and Python
Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
Generate test plans/procedures for assessing system performance
Generate test documentation for verification/acceptance of components, subsystems, and systems
Execute IV&V activities for multidisciplinary Integration and Test teams.

Qualifications You Must Have
Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering Or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
Academic or internship experience that included hands-on testing of electronic equipment
Experience troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby
Experience in data analysis using tools such as Microsoft Office, Python, MATLAB and/or C++
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
Qualifications We Prefer
Majors: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Physics degree program).
Experience or coursework in Systems Engineering
Extracurricular involvement in school groups/clubs and/or the community
3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
Basic understanding on how radar systems are developed and function and understanding of radar modes and operation, such as air/air detection, air/ground detection, and ground mapping capabilities
