Job Summary
The Systems Engineer designs, develops, integrates, verifies, and validates complex communications systems across the product lifecycle.
The role spans network architecture, human-machine interface design, requirements management, and government deliverable documentation.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to requirements definition, design, integration, verification, and validation for communications systems.
- Manage system and subsystem requirements and maintain traceability to verification.
- Design resilient communication architectures and maintain technical specifications, interface documents, test plans, and government deliverables.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, integration, and program management teams.
- Support integration and testing, resolve technical issues, and contribute to design reviews.
- Include cybersecurity and network-resiliency considerations where applicable.
Assets
- Cybersecurity standards, security technologies, or relevant certifications are assets but are not required.
- UX/UI design, resilient network design, MBSE, SysML, Cameo, communications technologies, or naval domain knowledge are assets.
- Technical writing, DOORS or PLM tools, Python or Java, and Windows or Linux experience are assets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of defense or aerospace product or project development experience, or equivalent military communications engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of communication protocols and network infrastructure.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and meet the stated security and residence requirements.
Compensation
- The salary range is CAD 90,000 to CAD 120,000.
- Offer decisions consider qualifications and relevant experience.
