Role overview

Systems engineering is a cross-functional discipline focused on meeting business, technical, and customer needs.

The System Engineer — Power Quality selects, sizes, configures, and delivers complex power quality solutions.

The role covers the full project lifecycle from customer engagement and proposal development through technical delivery and continuous improvement.

The role works with business verticals, platform engineering, supply chain, and GE Vernova's global engineering community.

Essential responsibilities

  • Select, size, and configure power quality systems such as rotating stabilizers and STATCOMs and related equipment.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, calculations, drawings, and proposal inputs.
  • Apply knowledge of VSDs, SFCs, transformers, filters, motors, and other power system equipment.
  • Develop and review system SLDs, protection SLDs, and layouts for large system projects.
  • Perform system design and analysis for VSD, SFC, and power quality solutions across industrial and utility applications.
  • Support ITO and OTR solution development, ensuring technical fitness, risk understanding, and mitigation planning.
  • Analyze customer contracts, prepare vendor and stakeholder specifications, and review vendor documentation.
  • Prepare proposal inputs, technical write-ups, and solution configurations for competitive tenders.
  • Identify technical risks and opportunities to improve processes, systems, equipment, tools, and technologies.
  • Coordinate with platform engineering, technology, value engineering, supply chain, subcontractors, suppliers, and other business entities.
  • Drive a lean mindset to provide optimum technical solutions for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company and customer EHS policies and procedures.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering from a reputed college or university.
  • At least three years of project or design engineering experience with power quality or VSD projects in industrial, marine, oil and gas, or power domains.
  • Knowledge and application of international standards.
  • Ability to adapt and multitask with project and application engineers.
  • Analytical and innovative approach to problem solving.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • PLM or Primavera experience is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment with multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice within the base country and overseas for assignments.
