We are seeking a Sustainability Advisor to support environmental, social and governance performance across MMG’s Rosebery operation.
Based in Burnie with travel to Rosebery as required, this role will deliver analysis, reporting and practical insights across key sustainability priorities, including climate change, decarbonisation, biodiversity, land stewardship, human rights and responsible business practices.
Reporting to the Superintendent Environment and Sustainability, you will work closely with site and corporate teams to strengthen sustainability performance, support informed decision-making and contribute to continuous improvement across the business.
In this role, you will:
Support biodiversity, land stewardship and environmental initiatives
Assist with climate risk, emissions reporting and decarbonisation planning
Coordinate ESG reporting and maintain accurate sustainability data
Monitor human rights, social impact and responsible business commitments
Provide analysis for sustainability projects, business cases and expenditure
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and optimise investment
Support purchasing and accounts payable activities through SAP
Monitor emerging ESG requirements and industry developments
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

You will bring strong analytical capability, sound judgement and the ability to translate complex sustainability information into practical insights and recommendations.
You will ideally have:
A bachelor’s degree in environment, sustainability, sustainable development, community development, social sciences or a related discipline
Experience in sustainability reporting, ESG, environmental or commercial support roles
An understanding of ESG frameworks, climate change, decarbonisation, biodiversity, human rights and sustainability governance
Strong data analysis, reporting and systems capability
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Power BI or other data-visualisation tools
Experience using SAP or a similar enterprise resource planning system
The ability to interpret operational, financial and sustainability data
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience within mining, resources, environmental services or heavy industry will be highly regarded. Exposure to ArcGIS, ISO 14001, sustainability auditing, budgeting or cost-management processes would also be advantageous.
