Supply Chain Lead

Job Summary

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• Minimum 8–10 years of procurement and/or supply chain management experience is required.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience is required.
• Transportation, logistics, or asset-heavy industry experience is preferred.
• CIPS, CPSM, or an equivalent professional certification is preferred.

• Strategic sourcing, procurement management, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
• Contract and vendor management, inventory control, MRP, and stock planning.
• ERP and procurement systems proficiency, advanced Excel, cost control, and procurement planning.

Special Requirements

Strategic Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the procurement and inventory management strategy.
• Lead centralized procurement transition through ERP implementation.
• Enforce Procure-to-Pay and Inventory Management policies.
• Develop annual procurement plans and monitor budget and procurement variances.
• Establish supplier performance and relationship management frameworks.
• Improve inventory availability, accuracy, and replenishment planning.
• Identify procurement and inventory risks and implement mitigation plans.

Procurement Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing of goods, services, spare parts, subcontracted services, and other business requirements.
• Lead supplier pre-qualification, tendering, negotiation, contracting, and performance evaluation.
• Develop framework agreements and supplier consolidation initiatives for cost savings.
• Oversee purchase requisitions, purchase orders, approvals, and policy compliance.
• Manage supplier and service-provider contracts, renewals, and performance.
• Monitor market prices, supply risks, and relevant cost trends.
• Coordinate strategic purchases and purchasing committee activities.

Inventory Management

• Manage spare-parts and consumables catalogues, min-max levels, and reorder points.
• Monitor stock replenishment, MRP requirements, and supplier delivery performance.
• Record stock receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments accurately and promptly in the ERP.
• Oversee cycle counts and annual physical inventory activities.
• Monitor obsolete, expired, and slow-moving inventory and coordinate disposal.
• Maintain inventory classification, valuation, documentation, goods-in-transit, and consignment controls.
• Ensure stock availability for fleet and operational requirements.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Procurement and Inventory/Stores teams.
• Plan workloads, maintain accountability, and support team performance.
• Coach teams and provide technical guidance on procurement and inventory practices.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Workshop, and other stakeholders.
• Drive accuracy, governance, continuous improvement, and ethical procurement practices.
• Maintain relationships with senior management, suppliers, and service providers.
