- The role is based in Mumbai, India.
Role Overview
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for parts quality and supplier process development.
The position ensures right-first-time performance and long-term process capability for outsourced parts.
The role serves as a bridge between Portescap and its suppliers.
Supplier Quality Duties
- Review supplier processes and identify quality issues.
- Maintain supplier documentation, records, reports, and performance tracking.
- Provide technical guidance and communicate with suppliers and senior management.
- Ensure supplied products and processes meet specified quality requirements.
- Visit suppliers regularly to review systems and conduct on-site process audits.
- Coordinate deviation requests, approvals, and material tracking.
- Manage supplier corrective actions, 8D closures, and root-cause analysis.
- Use 5 Why analysis and countermeasures to address supplier issues.
- Conduct APQP reviews before approving PPAP.
- Review supplier manufacturing processes and identify improvement opportunities.
