Why This Role Matters The role is Supervisor Mining is responsible for overseeing and coordinating mining activities at a designated mine site.

This role involves managing a team of mining operators, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations, optimizing production efficiency, and coordinating with other departments to achieve production targets.

The Supervisor Mining plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient extraction of ore, managing equipment utilization, and implementing best practices to maximize productivity.

What You Will Deliver Supervise and coordinate mining operations, including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and dumping activities, to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and environmental standards in all mining activities, conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations as required.

Provide leadership and direction to mining crews, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and training to improve skills and efficiency.

Coordinate with mine planning and engineering teams to implement mine plans, optimize pit designs, and sequence mining activities to maximize ore recovery and minimize dilution.

Monitor equipment performance and utilization, coordinating maintenance activities and repairs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability.

Conduct regular inspections of mining equipment, infrastructure, and work areas, identifying maintenance requirements, safety hazards, and opportunities for process improvements.

Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and equipment logs, preparing reports and documentation for management review and regulatory compliance.

Liaise with other departments, such as geology, processing, and maintenance, to coordinate ore delivery, grade control, and equipment scheduling to support overall production objectives.

Monitor and control operating costs, managing consumables, fuel consumption, and labor resources to optimize productivity and minimize operating expenses.

Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among mining personnel, promoting adherence to company policies, values, and performance standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geology, or related field; additional certifications in mine supervision or leadership are advantageous.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in open-pit or underground mining operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

That Matter Strong understanding of mine planning principles, ore reserve estimation, and grade control practices to optimize production and minimize ore loss and dilution.

Proficiency in mine safety regulations, risk management practices, and environmental compliance requirements applicable to mining operations.

Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify operational inefficiencies, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
