Job summary
Process customer transactions accurately and provide efficient service at the supermarket checkout.
Handle payments and assist customers in a busy supermarket environment.
Key responsibilities
- Scan products and process customer purchases accurately.
- Accept cash, card, and digital payments and operate the point-of-sale system.
- Issue receipts and process returns or exchanges according to company procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Assist customers with basic product and pricing inquiries.
- Balance the cash drawer and report discrepancies when required.
Qualifications
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Demonstrate good communication and customer service abilities.
- Be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred.
