Electrical Substation Engineer II (Mid-Level) About the Opportunity We are seeking a motivated Electrical Substation Engineer II to join our growing Power Delivery team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
This position supports the planning, design, and execution of electrical substation projects for utility, industrial, and energy clients.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of substation engineering experience and a strong understanding of high-voltage power systems, substation design principles, and utility industry standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to grow their career while working on complex transmission and distribution infrastructure projects that help power communities and industries across North America.
Perform engineering and design activities for transmission and distribution substations.
Develop physical substation layouts, equipment arrangements, grounding plans, conduit plans, and electrical calculations.
Prepare and review engineering deliverables, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and protection and control design packages.
Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & control, transmission line, and construction teams throughout project execution.
Support equipment selection and specifications for transformers, breakers, switches, reactors, capacitor banks, and other substation equipment.
Participate in client meetings and technical discussions.
Review vendor drawings and equipment submittals.
Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and engineering estimates.
Support construction, commissioning, and field activities as needed.

Familiarity with utility standards, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and applicable industry codes.

Must currently reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth area or be willing to relocate prior to starting employment.
Preferred Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
working with EPC contractors, engineering consulting firms, utilities, or power delivery organizations.
Exposure to high-voltage substations ranging from 12kV through 500kV.
