Work Schedule

• Flexible workdays and work hours, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. The final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.

Additional Work Schedule

• Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 24 hours per workweek (Sunday – Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per workweek during breaks; (winter, spring, and summer).

Compensation

• $20.00 - $34.23 an hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of college-level English composition or other writing-intensive coursework.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with community service, outreach, volunteer work, or public-facing communication.
• Ability to prepare written summaries, reports, meeting notes, or outreach materials.
• Interest in environmental justice and community-focused programs.
• Ability to organize documents, maintain records, and manage calendars.
• Ability to interpret program information and explain it clearly to diverse audiences.
• Ability to analyze situations and recommend practical, well-reasoned actions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort communicating with agencies, community groups, or stakeholders.
• Individuals who are, or have been, a dependent child in foster care, a homeless youth or a formerly incarcerated youth as defined by Government Code section 18220 are encouraged to apply and will be given priority. Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist staff in preparing communication materials, outreach content, and policy summaries.
• Help organize and coordinate public meetings, workshops, and virtual events with air districts and community organizations.
• Support internal and external stakeholder communication, including drafting emails, summaries, and informational content.
• Organize documents, manage calendars, and support administrative coordination.
• Assist with research of public-facing program information and compile clear, concise summaries.
• Help ensure incentive program information is communicated effectively and equitably to communities statewide.

Physical Requirements

• Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without reasonable accommodation.
