Role Overview
Burns & McDonnell India is seeking a Structural Engineer for its Power global practice in the Mumbai office.
The Power Division focuses on power-generating facilities and provides design and project execution experience.
The role requires an experienced and competent engineer who can solve difficult problems by adapting and modifying standard techniques.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work independently.
- Evaluate, select, adapt, and modify standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Perform engineering work involving complex features and apply engineering principles in specialty and related areas.
- Coordinate project studies, report preparation, design assignments, and design teams.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers, vendors, project managers, and other engineering disciplines.
- Work with modelers, designers, and detailers in Mumbai and various U.S. offices.
- Perform calculations and designs using computer-aided and manual design techniques.
- Design equipment foundations and structural steel for pipe racks and other power plant structures.
- Interpret complex engineering problems and develop appropriate solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum 2–9 years of related experience.
- Proficiency with RISA-3D, RISA Foundation, RAM Connection, STAAD.Pro, Navisworks, and/or Smart Plant Review.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to devise new approaches to problems encountered.
- Previous consulting engineering experience in the power industry is preferred.
Workplace and Schedule
- The primary location is the Mumbai office in Maharashtra, India.
- The schedule is full-time and the posting states that travel is not required.
