About the role
The Structural Analysis Engineer performs the structural analysis of our Electric Propulsion Unit components. The role involves performing thermo-mechanical analyses (including static, fatigue, damage tolerance, vibration, dynamics) using classical hand calculations, Finite Element Methods, and other toolsets as required, in accordance with internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and perform structural analyses of Electric Powertrain components to optimize for weight, strength, life, or other functional requirements
- Experiment with and analyze various materials, manufacturing processes, design tolerances, and other factors in the developmental process
- Prepare and approve analysis reports and present results during project reviews
- Drive the development of technical and certification requirements for Electric Propulsion Units for aviation applications, and the definition of test program requirements for validation and compliance to applicable requirements
- Help establish clearly documented structural analysis requirements, methods, tools, and FEM techniques across the company
- Cooperate with other departments through the entire life cycle of the product
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related equivalent
