Role Overview
The Storekeeper manages the receipt, storage, recording, distribution, and maintenance of Academy materials and equipment.
The role supports offices, classrooms, training activities, and students by keeping required supplies available and accurately recorded.
The Storekeeper safeguards materials and maintains organized, clean, safe, and secure store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage materials, equipment, supplies, stationery, uniforms, training materials, and student-related items.
- Receive, inspect, count, record, label, and store incoming materials and supplies.
- Issue materials to students, departments, classrooms, and employees based on approved requests.
- Maintain records of received, issued, transferred, returned, damaged, obsolete, and remaining stock.
- Conduct physical stock counts and reconcile quantities with store records.
- Maintain stock registers, inventory records, issue vouchers, delivery records, and related documentation.
- Monitor stock levels and notify relevant departments when items need replenishment.
- Arrange, label, categorize, safeguard, and properly store materials and equipment.
- Coordinate delivery and collection between the store, offices, classrooms, training locations, and departments.
- Record damaged, expired, obsolete, or unusable items and manage returned reusable materials.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, safety, and security.
- Prepare reports, support stock audits, and coordinate material requirements with internal departments.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Good knowledge of storekeeping, inventory control, inventory management, and stock control procedures.
- Ability to maintain accurate stock records and documentation.
- Ability to count and verify materials accurately.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel and inventory systems.
- Good organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle multiple types of materials and equipment.
- Attention to detail, responsibility, trustworthiness, and ability to follow established procedures.
- Ability to work independently.
Qualifications and Experience
- A High School or Secondary School Certificate or Diploma is preferred.
- Previous experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Assistant, Inventory Controller, or in a similar position is preferred.
- Experience in an educational, training, institutional, or office environment is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and stock control procedures is required.
