Store Keeper

Overview

• Receive materials delivered to site and check quantity, quality, specifications, delivery notes, and purchase orders.
• Inspect incoming materials such as aggregates, asphalt-related materials, pipes, fittings, manhole covers, kerbstones, interlock, cement, steel, diesel, PPE, tools, and consumables.
• Maintain proper records for all materials received, issued, returned, transferred, or damaged.
• Prepare Material Receiving Reports, Goods Receipt Notes, issue vouchers, stock cards, and daily/weekly/monthly store reports.
• Issue materials to site teams only after proper approval from authorized engineers or supervisors.
• Monitor stock levels and inform the procurement/site team in advance for required materials to avoid work delays.
• Organize and store materials properly according to type, project requirement, safety standards, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Ensure proper control of tools, equipment, small machinery, survey items, PPE, and consumables.
• Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, site engineers, foremen, and project management for material deliveries and site requirements.
• Maintain updated inventory records manually or through ERP/software system.
• Conduct regular stock checking and physical inventory verification.
• Report shortages, excess materials, damages, rejected materials, or discrepancies immediately.
• Ensure proper housekeeping, safety, and security inside the store area.
• Control diesel/fuel, lubricants, spare parts, and other sensitive materials where applicable.
• Assist in material reconciliation and project cost control by providing accurate material usage reports.
• Ensure all materials are stored safely to avoid loss, theft, damage, weather exposure, or misuse.
• Support demobilization activities by preparing balance material reports and arranging material transfers to other projects or main store.
