Role Overview
Apple Cloud operates large-scale infrastructure supporting critical services across geographically dispersed data centers.
The Object Storage SRE team builds and runs next-generation distributed storage systems for hundreds of millions of users.
The role suits seasoned software and systems engineers who value software delivered as a service, reuse, efficiency, and simplicity.
Responsibilities
- Own projects and deliverables from understanding priorities through solution design and timely delivery.
- Design solutions, build stakeholder support, and provide technical feedback on colleagues' designs, features, and projects.
- Drive technical standards across a globally distributed team in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Handle alerts and escalations through an on-call rotation that includes weekends.
- Learn and improve tools used for configuration management, provisioning, software development and deployment, logging, and monitoring.
- Automate manual operations and continuously improve system reliability and efficiency.
On-Call and Collaboration
- The team operates an on-call rota that includes weekends to maintain service availability and functionality.
