About the Role
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a skilled Steel Structural Inspector to conduct inspections of road and highway structures, ensuring compliance with standards. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and specialized inspections of road and highway structures including bridges, flyovers, underpasses, tunnels, retaining walls, abutments, culverts, drainage structures, and road side installations
- Verify that construction works comply with approved IFC drawings, technical specifications, and method statements
- Perform visual inspections, dimensional checks, and non destructive testing (NDT) as required for concrete and steel structures
- Monitor concrete works including formwork, reinforcement, concreting, post tensioning, and curing activities
- Ensure compliance with AASHTO, ASCE, FHWA, ASTM, and local authority (UAE) standards
- Record inspection data, site observations, non conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions
- Prepare detailed inspection and progress reports highlighting structural condition, construction quality issues, safety concerns and recommendations
- Coordinate daily inspection activities with contractors, consultants, and project management teams
- Assist Project Engineers in reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and work inspection requests (WIRs)
- Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and site staff on best practices in road structure construction
- Attend site meetings with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities as required
- Support audits, quality reviews, and inspections conducted by authorities or third parties
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural specialization preferred)
- 7+ years of proven experience in structural inspection, preferably on road and highway projects, bridges and major infrastructure works
- Demonstrated experience working in consultant supervision roles is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and materials, road and highway construction methods, quality assurance and inspection procedures
- Proficient in inspection tools, testing equipment, and reporting software

Overview
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Inspector specializing in Structural assessments to join our team.
Structural & Road Infrastructure Inspection

About You
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural specialization preferred).
- Master's Degree is an advantage.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification preferred.
- 7+ years of proven experience in structural inspection, preferably on road and highway projects, bridges and major infrastructure works.
- Demonstrated experience working in consultant supervision roles is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and materials, road and highway construction methods, quality assurance and inspection procedures.
- Proficient in inspection tools, testing equipment, and reporting software.
