Role Overview
Steel drafting role focused on fabrication, shop, installation, and as-built drawings for structural steel and metalwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed shop, fabrication, and installation drawings for steel and metal works.
- Prepare plans, elevations, sections, and connection drawings.
- Develop drawings from architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
- Prepare fabrication and cutting details for steel components.
- Coordinate drawings with site and fabrication teams.
- Take site measurements and incorporate actual site conditions.
- Revise drawings based on consultant and client comments.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and approved designs.
- Prepare as-built drawings upon completion of works.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, site supervisors, and fabricators.
- Maintain drawing records and revision control.
- Ensure accuracy of dimensions, material specifications, levels, and details.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- Two to five years of experience in steel fabrication or construction drafting.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience preparing steel fabrication and shop drawings.
- Ability to understand structural and architectural drawings.
