Essential Responsibilities
- Review project contracts, design documents, specifications, schedules, budgets, and technical requirements to ensure successful project execution
- Lead and coordinate station-related construction activities, including civil, structural, architectural, and MEP scopes
- Liaise with clients, designers, consultants, engineering teams, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and maintain project alignment
- Develop and implement construction execution plans, including staging, sequencing, logistics, procurement, equipment, and subcontracting strategies
- Manage technical reviews of design documents, identify constructability concerns, and recommend solutions to optimize project delivery
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, safety programs, and environmental regulations
- Review and coordinate project schedules, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies to maintain key milestones
- Manage change requests, RFIs, field instructions, and scope modifications while minimizing impacts to schedule and budget
- Lead client communications, progress reporting, stakeholder meetings, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Support commissioning, turnover, and project closeout activities, ensuring all systems and deliverables meet contract requirements
Qualifications
- 8+ years of civil construction experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager for a General Contractor is required
- Completion of post-secondary education in civil engineering or a related field is required
- Professional Engineer license in the Province of Ontario is an asset
- Previous experience delivering station projects, transit facilities, or passenger transportation infrastructure is strongly preferred
- Experience working on GO Transit, Metrolinx, or other rail transit projects is highly regarded and preferred
- Strong knowledge of civil, structural, architectural, and MEP construction activities and coordination requirements
- Experience working within active rail corridors and a thorough understanding of rail corridor requirements, permits, and work planning processes
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and client stakeholders
- Demonstrated success delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining quality standards
- Strong understanding of contract administration, change management, scheduling, quantity tracking, and project controls
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and other construction management software, along with excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Must possess a valid provincial driver's license
Working Conditions
Site-based position in Oshawa, Ontario
Frequent interaction with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and field personnel
Occasional work in active rail corridor and construction environments
