Job Duties: Lead and ensure the technical excellence of solutions delivered by the Metrics for Release and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) groups and guide their integration within Torc's self-driving product portfolio.
Architect scalable platform systems for validating autonomous driving software, including orchestration of distributed compute workloads, telemetry pipelines, and results of delivery to downstream teams.
Lead the integration of new and existing self-driving components and subsystems to enable the deployment of self-driving software onto Hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) benches.
Maintain traceability between different levels of requirements and map them to verification tests throughout the product lifecycle.
Leverage automated software testing pipelines and create requirements for new tools or automation to increase overall testing capabilities.
Track and report system performance KPIs on a regular basis to provide insight into system performance to the rest of the organization.
Operate as a recognized subject matter expert, driving alignment and influencing adoption of best practices, technology stacks, and standards beyond the immediate group.
Mentor engineers across multiple teams on systems design, requirements engineering, and best practices.
Requirements
Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or related technical field with 4 years' experience in related systems engineering role, or alternatively Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or related technical field with 6 years' in related systems engineering role.
Experience
must include: 1) systems engineering tools (Jama, Cameo) for architecture and requirements management; 2) Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) test planning, execution, and CI/CD automation; 3) Data analysis, visualization, and KPI reporting; 4) Troubleshooting and debugging of robotic, autonomous, or automotive systems; 5) Programming in Python, C++ and ROS (Robot Operating System); 6) CAN-based vehicle networking.
Position is located at HQ in Blacksburg, Virginia; availability to work anywhere in the U.S.
Salary: $198,451.20
