This position exists to translate business and store operations requirements into scalable SAP configuration and integration solutions that ensure accurate inventory visibility, purchasing accuracy, and reliable receiving processes across store locations. By owning the technical design, configuration, and troubleshooting of these systems, this role ensures inventory data integrity, supports supply chain continuity, and enables store teams to operate with accurate, real-time stock information.

Partner with Business/Systems Analysts and Store Operations stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs, by participating in requirements sessions and providing technical feasibility input, to ensure delivered solutions meet operational needs.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within inventory, purchasing, and receiving system flows, by analyzing data discrepancies, tracing transactions across SAP and store systems, and identifying root cause, to minimize stock inaccuracies and receiving errors impacting store operations.
Participate in system implementations, upgrades, and rollouts involving S/4 IS-Retail inventory, purchasing, and receiving functionality, by contributing technical design and configuration expertise, to ensure new capabilities are delivered reliably and on schedule.
Design, build, and configure SAP S/4 IS-Retail solutions supporting inventory management, purchasing, and receiving, by analyzing business requirements and translating them into functional configuration, to ensure accurate inventory tracking and reliable purchasing/receiving processes at the store level.
Document technical designs, configurations, and integration architecture for inventory, purchasing, and receiving solutions, by maintaining clear technical specifications and runbooks, so solutions are maintainable and support knowledge transfer across the engineering team.
Develop and maintain integrations between store systems (Handhelds, DC/DSD receiving platforms) and SAP, using SAP Integration Suite or equivalent middleware, to ensure timely and accurate data flow between store-level receiving activity and backend inventory records.
Configure and support purchasing processes within SAP (e.g., purchase orders, vendor replenishment, automated ordering), by analyzing business workflows and system dependencies, to ensure accurate, timely procurement of store inventory.
Design and configure DC and DSD receiving solutions within S/4 IS-Retail, by analyzing inbound/outbound data flows and store-level receiving workflows, to ensure inventory is accurately received, recorded, and reconciled against purchase orders.
Design and execute unit, integration, and performance testing for inventory, purchasing, and receiving solutions prior to deployment, by developing test cases and validating data accuracy across systems, to ensure reliability and prevent production issues.
Minimum 7-10 years of software engineering experience, with progressively increasing technical responsibility (Level IV/Senior scope). Experience designing and configuring integrations using SAP Integration Suite (or equivalent middleware/iPaaS platform). Experience configuring DC and DSD receiving processes within SAP. Experience with purchasing/procurement configuration (purchase orders, vendor replenishment, automated ordering).
Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA IS-Retail, including inventory management, purchasing, and receiving modules. Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA IS-Retail Master Data, including Article Master, Merchandise Categories, Sites, and Vendor/Customer Master. Familiarity with Store Handheld devices and their integration with SAP inventory processes. Working knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and its application across full project lifecycles.
Minimum 3 full-cycle SAP implementations involving inventory management, purchasing, and/or receiving solutions, including experience applying SAP Activate methodology across implementation phases (Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, Run). Worked with Store Handheld device integrations supporting in-store merchandise and inventory management. Ability to translate business/functional requirements into scalable technical designs.
Strong communication skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., Business Analysts, Store Operations).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Worked with RELEX and/or Forecasting & Replenishment (F&R) systems, supporting demand planning and automated inventory replenishment processes.
Worked with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) transactions, supporting vendor/supplier processes (e.g., purchase orders, invoices, advance ship notices) within purchasing and receiving.
Worked with Store Handheld device integrations supporting in-store merchandise and inventory management.
Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA IS-Retail, including inventory management, purchasing, and receiving modules.
Experience configuring DC and DSD receiving processes within SAP.
Experience with purchasing/procurement configuration (purchase orders, vendor replenishment, automated ordering).
Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA IS-Retail Master Data, including Article Master, Merchandise Categories, Sites, and Vendor/Customer Master.
Experience with listing, assortment management, and distribution chains within SAP Retail.
Familiarity with Store Handheld devices and their integration with SAP inventory processes.
Working knowledge of SAP Activate methodology and its application across full project lifecycles.
Understanding of API design, middleware patterns, and real-time/batch data integration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-system technical issues.
Ability to translate business/functional requirements into scalable technical designs.
Experience working in agile/iterative development environments, including SAP Activate's iterative delivery approach.
Strong documentation skills for technical designs, configurations, and runbooks.
Experience in grocery or multi-department retail environments.
SAP certification(s) related to S/4HANA Retail or Supply Chain modules.
Familiarity with SAP Clean Core architecture principles.
Experience with demand forecasting or automated replenishment systems beyond RELEX/F&R.
Experience working with Store Handheld device integrations.
Experience with performance tuning and monitoring of high-volume, real-time integration pipelines.
