Staff Software Engineer (Remote)

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain micro-services and backend software components in modern Java
• Develop and maintain state-of-the-art features within Apache Druid
• Lead in the design and development of major features across teams
• Coordinate directly with PM, UX design, frontend engineers, and backend engineers to successfully deliver major initiatives, new features, and products
• Be on-call for production issues (2 weeks per cycle, 4-6 times per year)
• Requirements:
• 5+ years experience building and maintaining highly scalable and reliable services in Java or a similar language
• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, cloud providers such as AWS, and/or related technologies
• Experience using relational and/or OLAP databases
• Experience with agile methodologies
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Bonus Points:
• Experience using Apache Druid
• Open source contributions to Apache Druid or other open source database
• Experience using streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka and Apache Flink

• Individual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications aligned with Imply’s internal levelings guidelines and benchmarks. The below range encompasses roles with on target earnings. This role is also eligible to participate in Imply’s equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
• Compensation: $185,000 - $225,000
