Role Overview

The role owns Salla's shipping stack end to end and the economics of shipment delivery.

The product scope includes courier integrations, routing, cash-on-delivery reconciliation, exceptions, partner performance, and fulfillment beyond last mile.

The product manager leads a dedicated engineering squad as its accountable product owner.

Product Domains

  • Shipping products include routing, label issuance, cash on delivery, tracking, and driver-facing tools.
  • Partner integrations include provider onboarding, interface quality, status mapping, reconciliation, and platform stability.
  • Fulfillment beyond last mile includes inventory placement, warehousing, third-party orchestration, pick and pack, first-mile pickup, and returns.
  • Shipping economics include carrier mix, rate cards, delivery cost, and platform pricing and margin.

Responsibilities

  • Own the shipping and fulfillment strategy and roadmap based on merchant retention and contribution per shipment.
  • Decide order routing and pricing across providers, service levels, costs, and merchant charges.
  • Improve delivery reliability and cash-on-delivery reconciliation using measurable performance indicators.
  • Build a stable integration layer with status mapping, retries, fallbacks, and monitoring.
  • Extend capabilities beyond last mile based on merchant retention impact.
  • Determine which shipping capabilities are free or paid.
  • Manage metrics with the data team and shift volume between providers based on performance data.

Required Experience

  • Own a shipping, fulfillment, or order-management product serving many businesses and demonstrate measurable outcomes.
  • Understand shipment economics, including rate cards, zones, weight, service levels, surcharges, and failed deliveries.
  • Have depth beyond last-mile delivery in at least two specified fulfillment or logistics areas.
  • Understand interfaces, webhooks, status mapping, retries, and reconciliation.
  • Have served as the single product owner for a dedicated engineering squad.
  • Have seven or more years of product management experience.
  • Be fully professionally fluent in Arabic and English.
  • Be willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience building products on top of a partner network is strongly preferred.
  • GCC logistics context is preferred over theoretical knowledge.
