Role Overview
The Staff FullStack Engineer will help build Okta's Identity Security Fabric for the agentic era.
The role combines distributed systems, secure access, full-stack engineering, and AI-native software development.
What You Will Do
- Shape technical strategy for the Identity Security Fabric and help prioritize open standards such as IPSIE.
- Implement the Discover, Onboard, Protect, and Govern maturity model across full-stack ecosystems.
- Architect systems that discover and secure human and non-human agents, including Shadow AI assets.
- Enforce least privilege through Agent Gateways and short-lived credentials.
- Advance AI-native development practices across design, review, and software delivery.
- Improve technical debt, CI/CD, observability, documentation, reliability, and support processes.
- Partner with Product and Design on customer outcomes.
- Grow peer engineers and raise the team's technical bar.
What You Will Bring
- Ability to apply AI meaningfully across the software development lifecycle and establish effective team practices.
- Experience defining scalable backend architectures and integrating complex APIs with modern web technologies.
- Strong web authentication and authorization fundamentals.
- Deep expertise building secure, reliable enterprise software with Java or another type-safe language.
