Job summary
DDN is seeking a Staff Engineer focused on systems and storage performance engineering.
The role requires deep Linux storage, distributed benchmarking, networking, kernel tooling, and low-level systems expertise.
Core requirements
- Have 12 or more years of systems or storage performance engineering experience at staff or principal level.
- Have deep Linux storage I/O path and kernel module profiling and tuning experience.
- Have experience with distributed storage benchmarking at scale using fio and filesystem tools.
- Have experience with NVMe/NVMe-oF, block-device internals, and erasure coding or RAID data paths.
- Have experience with RDMA, RoCEv2 or InfiniBand, TCP offload, and NUMA-aware tuning.
- Be proficient in C, Python, and Linux performance tools including perf, ftrace, eBPF, and flamegraphs.
Key responsibilities
- Apply systems and storage performance engineering expertise at staff or principal level.
- Profile and tune Linux storage I/O paths and kernel modules.
- Benchmark distributed storage at scale using fio and filesystem tools.
- Work with NVMe, NVMe-oF, block-device internals, and erasure coding or RAID data paths.
- Tune RDMA, RoCEv2 or InfiniBand, TCP offload, and NUMA-aware systems.
- Use C, Python, and Linux performance tooling for analysis and engineering.
