About the role
The Staff Physical Design Engineer is a key technical contributor for physical design implementation of next-generation IPs.
The role translates complex RTL into high-performance implementation and optimizes the interaction between microarchitecture and physical layout.
Key responsibilities
- Drive synthesis, floorplanning, place and route, and signoff for major subsystems and diverse IP blocks.
- Partner with RTL and architecture teams to identify bottlenecks and co-design solutions.
- Optimize power, performance, and area across different design classes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, contribute to flows and automation, mentor junior engineers, and champion best practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on physical design experience.
- Successful tape-outs on advanced process nodes; 7nm and below is preferred.
