Role Overview
RBC is hiring a Staff Data Engineer within Global Security to build secure, scalable data solutions for analytics, reporting, AI, and machine learning.
The role focuses on Snowflake platforms, large-scale data pipelines, automation, governance, and performance.
What You Will Do
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using data from databases, APIs, and flat files.
- Develop Snowflake stored procedures and establish platform best practices.
- Translate cross-functional data requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Implement metadata management, access controls, compliance, and data governance.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries and workflows.
- Automate platform utilities with Python and orchestration tools such as Airflow.
- Document technical processes, architectures, and data models.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on Snowflake experience, including stored procedures, query optimization, and data storage and consumption practices.
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Strong Python scripting skills and experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, access controls, and compliance.
