Sr Technical Consultant - Java, PLSQL, WMS

Role scope

Technical environment

• The current technical environment includes Core Java, PL/SQL, and Ext JS.
• The role also requires JavaScript, database tools, source control, CI/CD, operating systems, and issue-tracking tools.

Software delivery

• Understand business objectives and customer requirements and propose technical solutions.
• Provide effort estimates and create technical approach documents.
• Develop, code, and unit test solutions using established standards and best practices.
• Prepare and manage releases, rollouts, patches, schedules, and release notes.
• Provide technical inputs and high-level estimates for pre-sales activities.

Collaboration and quality

• Collaborate with customers and project teams on requirements, specifications, and proposed solutions.
• Ensure code and documentation undergo peer review and that feedback is addressed.
• Perform risk assessments, prepare quotes, and define functional and technical approaches for software changes.
• Investigate, triage, and resolve defects with code fixes and unit testing within defined SLAs.

Deployment and customer support

• Provide on-site or remote support for go-live activities, dry runs, testing, and other deployment needs while working during customer time zones.
• Coordinate and deliver product or solution demonstrations to clients.
• Take ownership of end-to-end project delivery and provide technical guidance to assigned engineers.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or another relevant discipline, including MCA or an MSc in Computer Science.
• Five to 7.5 years of total professional experience.
• Experience with Java, Ext JS, JavaScript, and PL/SQL.
• Experience in test management and test execution and familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience using AI tools such as Cursor AI, Replit AI, or GitHub Copilot for development, refactoring, and unit testing.
• Knowledge of software development practices, build processes, IDEs, database tools, GitHub, Jenkins, Windows, Linux, Unix, and JIRA.
• Ability to evaluate solutions, own end-to-end delivery, provide technical guidance, and collaborate across teams.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience with Blue Yonder, JDA, RedPrairie WMS, or another WMS platform is an advantage.
