About the Role

Requirements
- Minimum of 9 years of work experience in Commodities trading with leading IOCs, trading houses, NOCs, or vendors
- Strong C/ETRM experience in designing and implementing solutions
- Strong understanding of commodity markets (LNG preferred), trading strategies, risk management
- End to end, multi disciplinary knowledge in Commodities trading, Shipping and Finance
- Specialized experience in at least one area: Physical LNG Trading, Cargo Operations, Shipping, Derivative & Emission Trading, Trading Risk and Finance, or Portfolio Optimization
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or finance from an internationally recognized university

Primary Purpose of the Job
- Assist delivery of the strategic vision for QatarEnergy Trading’s transformation, aligning it with long term goals and architecture.
- Working with key stakeholders to elaborate requirements, design and implement efficient application solutions.
- Manage products backlogs and work with technical teams on implementation.
- Work collaboratively and bring parties together from within IT and the commercial functions.
- Work directly with the business teams, have a customer first approach.
- Assist with understanding impact of business change and work with business teams to onboard and implement such change.
- Provide expert support and required technical services to QET on related applications.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 9 years of work experience in Commodities trading with leading IOCs, trading houses, NOCs, or vendors in change, process, and technology.
- Strong C/ETRM experience in designing and implementing solutions to enhance trading strategies, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.
- Strong understanding of commodity markets (LNG is preferred), trading strategies, related organization, processes, risk management principles and related technologies solutions (C/ETRM, Fleet Management, Trading Platform, Market Analytics, etc).
- End to end, multi disciplinary knowledge is required in areas such as Commodities trading, Shipping and Finance with advanced knowledge of the front to back office trade lifecycle.
- Specialized experience in at least one area, such as Physical LNG Trading, Cargo Operations, Shipping, Derivative & Emission Trading, Trading Risk and Finance, or Portfolio Optimization.
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
- Proven ability to manage backlog and relevant documentations with development team.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about technology as an enabler in commodities trading.
- Familiar with IT standards & best practices, architecture, integration, methods.
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
- High proficiency with workplace applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), project management and collaboration tools (e.g. MS Project, Azure DevOps / Confluence Jira, Miro/Mural etc). Comfortable in working with SQL queries and Excel.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or finance subject from an internationally recognized university.
