CPKC is seeking a Senior Network Designer to join our Information Services Network Design team. This senior technical leadership role will lead the architecture and design of Cisco LAN and WAN networks, supporting critical rail operations across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The successful candidate will drive the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of secure, resilient, and high-performing network solutions.
Lead the architecture, design, and evolution of enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, data center, cloud connectivity, network security, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and load-balancing solutions
Drive Cisco ACI, Azure and AWS networking, data center modernization, network automation, resiliency, and disaster recovery initiatives
Collaborate with Network Operations, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Services, Infrastructure Services, Project Delivery teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners to deliver scalable and secure network solutions
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate network designers, fostering innovation, knowledge sharing, and engineering excellence
Experience designing, provisioning, and troubleshooting Nokia 1830 transport networks and MPLS environments utilizing PSS-32/4 and Nokia 7750/7210 platforms
Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Starlink connectivity solutions
Demonstrate exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence decisions, solve complex challenges, adapt to changing priorities, and champion continuous learning
