Sr. Media Relations Advisor 2 Number of positions: Dunsmuir 15 Job Location: Permanent Employment type: Lower Mainland Region: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Hours of work: Hybrid Flexible Work Role: $ 109,700.00 - 138,700.00 Annual salary: What you'll do This role is a part of BC Hydro’s Media Relations and Issues Management group. The primary responsibilities include: * Developing earned media strategies and products, and coordinating and executing a variety of media announcements and events. * Identify, assess, and manage emerging issues and reputational risks, providing strategic communications advice. * Creating, managing, editing and implementing communications strategies and products for corporate initiatives and issues. * Providing support for enquiries from media, including acting as a spokesperson (ability to speak publicly in a language besides English is an asset). * Speech writing and experience writing for senior leaders. * Acting as the lead and central point of contact for specific business areas and issues files. * Liaising with other groups within the organization to ensure consistent messaging and communications strategy. * Monitoring current events and industry news, anticipating potential impacts. What you bring * At least five years of related experience, ideally in corporate communications, public relations or journalism. * Post-secondary degree/diploma in communications or a related field. * Exceptional writing skills and ability to breakdown complex information into content that is engaging and easy to understand. * Ability to work under pressure and excel in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. * Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. * Experience advising others, including senior leaders, on media strategy and issues management. * Comfortable dealing with sensitive material * Strong organizational and research skills What we offer - A comprehensive benefits package - A minimum of 15 paid vacation days - A lifetime pension - Flexible work model, depending on your role type - Training and development courses For more information on the benefits we offer, visit bchydro.com/benefits.
