Position Overview
Lucid is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II, Stator/Rotor for its resident product engineering organization in a manufacturing plant.
The role requires technical leadership, determination, and the ability to guide teams through technical and organizational challenges.
Product Engineering Responsibilities
- Solve component- and system-level problems using standard problem-solving techniques.
- Perform root-cause analysis and issue avoidance for process deviations and critical part quality issues.
- Troubleshoot stator and rotor subassemblies and manufacturing equipment interfaces.
- Define assembly requirements, process flows, and manufacturing assembly drawings.
- Support prototype builds, product launches, concessions, and high-volume production ramps.
- Lead product change management and recommend design changes that improve manufacturability, quality, serviceability, and robustness.
Analysis and Collaboration
- Evaluate process capability indices, control charts, distributions, and process-to-product correlations.
- Lead technical discussions with product, manufacturing, quality, supplier quality, production, maintenance, controls, and equipment engineering teams.
- Provide plant feedback to product design teams and mentor technicians, production associates, and less-experienced engineers.
- Incorporate lessons learned into improvement plans, product designs, process standards, and equipment specifications.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree with 4 or more years of automotive experience, or a master's degree with 2 or more years of automotive experience, in mechanical or automotive engineering.
- Experience with stator and rotor product development, improvement, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with product problem solving, data analysis, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, DVP&R, DFM/DFA, and RCA.
- Proficiency with Minitab or JMP, Python or MATLAB, Catia or 3DX, stack-up analysis, SQL, and Atlassian products.
- Six Sigma Green certification, Engineering-in-Training status, engineering fundamentals certification, and collegiate FSAE experience are listed.
