Role Overview

The Senior Manager - HSE leads health, safety, and environmental initiatives, personnel, policies, and procedures.

The role covers HSE activities across company facilities, project sites, and construction operations.

Responsibilities

  • Select, manage, and retain HSE Project Managers and enforce HSE policies and procedures.
  • Lead the HSE team, track KPIs, manage the approved budget, and drive operational improvements.
  • Implement health, safety, and environmental strategies and ensure effective HSE system execution.
  • Monitor project HSE team performance through monthly and quarterly project reviews.
  • Maintain HSE policies, standards, processes, procedures, and certifications such as ISO.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance and coordinate periodic HSE audits.
  • Lead major incident investigations and maintain systems for injury and damage reporting.
  • Manage safety service providers and support companywide HSE training and capability development.
  • Advise executive management on HSE matters related to tendering and business development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, safety studies, or a relevant field is required.
  • A master’s degree is preferred.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA certification is required.
  • Accident or incident investigation training is required.
  • At least 10 years of HSE experience in a comparable-sized operation is required.
  • Middle East experience is a strong advantage.

Technical Capabilities

  • Advanced integrated management system capability is required.
  • Advanced occupational health and safety management capability is required.
  • Advanced waste and dangerous substances management capability is required.
  • Advanced environmental impact and risk assessment capability is required.
