Overview

  • The load forecast is a foundation of BC Hydro’s Integrated Resource Plan.
  • As Senior Load Forecast Advisor, you will produce energy and peak demand forecasts for industrial customers.

What you'll do

  • Acts as project leader for forecasting studies for key industrial sub sectors.
  • Proactively identifies emerging drivers impacting future industrial demand.
  • Understands industrial customers’ expansion, electrification, and decarbonization roadmaps.
  • Translates policy and regulatory changes into long term load forecasting scenarios.
  • Synthesizes and communicates load forecast information to Executive and Board.
  • Coordinates efforts of consultants, data providers and department peers.
  • Directs, develops and maintains economic models and relationships.
  • Monitors performance of existing forecasting models and recommends improvements.
  • Builds and maintains ongoing internal and external working relationships.
  • Plans, organizes and implements the annual forecast work schedule.

What you bring

  • Post secondary Degree in economics, engineering, business, or other relevant discipline (Master's preferred).
  • 6 8 years of relevant experience with industrial project development, operations analysis, policy analysis, energy industry developments, forecasting, data management and analytics.
  • Demonstrated competency with MS Office suite, in particular Excel.
  • Demonstrated interest in process management and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated capability of designing and building analytical models and conducting industrial sector market research.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving capability.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.

Schedule

  • Full time (37.5 hrs/week).
  • Permanent position.
  • In office attendance at downtown Vancouver location up to five days a week.

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $109,680 $138,720.
