About the Role

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java 17+ backend applications using Spring Boot.
• Build secure, reliable RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Develop modern Angular and TypeScript user interfaces.
• Implement JPA/Hibernate persistence with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Implement Kafka-based event-driven architectures and enterprise messaging solutions.
• Containerize applications with Docker and support CI/CD deployments.
• Collaborate on front-end and back-end integration.
• Contribute to architecture, technical design, AI-enabled development, and continuous improvement.

Work Model

• This is a hybrid position requiring work from a Cognizant or client office in New York, NY.

Required Qualifications

• Bring 6+ years of experience developing enterprise applications with Java 17+.
• Have strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, JPA, and Hibernate.
• Have experience with Angular 17+/19+ and TypeScript.
• Understand software architecture principles, design patterns, and scalable application design.
• Have strong database experience covering major relational databases, design, optimization, tuning, stored procedures, and indexing.
• Have experience with Kafka, MQ, event-driven architectures, Docker, Git, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Camunda, REST, and SOAP APIs.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is helpful.
• Exposure to AI-driven application development, intelligent automation, NoSQL, or cloud-native architectures is helpful.
• Knowledge of automated testing, integration testing, debugging, DevOps, SRE, and Agile delivery is helpful.
• Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring developers, and driving best practices is helpful.

Compensation

• The annual salary range is $68,422 to $114,000, depending on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors.
• The role is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program subject to individual and company performance.
