Position Overview

Support Magna Powertrain's North American operations through financial consolidation, reporting, monthly operating analysis, and validation of data across financial systems.

Co-develop and support global business planning and forecasting processes in alignment with corporate objectives, financial requirements, and operational priorities.

Compensation

  • Starting salary is $90,000 plus an annual discretionary bonus.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Assist with the monthly First Indication Report to communicate group financial results.
  • Generate and distribute key monthly financial reports to management.
  • Prepare divisional monthly P&L summaries and present results and variances to the Product Group Finance Team.
  • Identify potential exceptions to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare quarterly schedules, reporting packages, and financial presentations for management reviews and external reporting.

Consolidation

  • Lead consolidation of group financial results and coordinate divisional results loads into OneStream.
  • Review divisional balance sheets for significant fluctuations, unusual movements, and financial risk areas.
  • Maintain month-end supporting documentation for internal and external audit requirements.
  • Follow up with divisions to resolve data integrity and OneStream-related discrepancies.

Business Planning and Forecasting

  • Lead consolidation and standardized reporting for the annual seven-year business plan.
  • Review divisional business plans and key assumptions, including sales, margins, P&L rolls, and other major drivers.
  • Support controllers with OneStream submissions, load templates, troubleshooting, and data integrity resolution.
  • Analyze quarterly forecasts and identify trends, variances, and risks for group-level reporting.
  • Implement a rolling three-month forecast and validate Campfire volumes used in plans and forecasts.

Other Finance Activities

  • Coordinate reporting timelines for quarter-end, business plans, and forecasts.
  • Liaise between divisions and the MPT Capital team regarding capital requirements and available funding.
  • Review annual divisional audit files for compliance with accounting policies and reporting requirements.
  • Support lease information maintenance in Lease Accelerator and assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business, commerce, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Pursuing a recognized professional accounting designation such as CPA.
  • At least five years of accounting or financial reporting experience with exposure to a general accounting or consolidation system.
  • Knowledge of Canadian GAAP and strong financial and data analysis skills.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and OneStream.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
