Opportunity
The Senior Business Analyst will support medium-to-large projects within Digital as part of a mortgage transformation program.
The role demonstrates advanced business analysis knowledge, applies competency in complex situations and guides other professionals.
The position is responsible for all aspects of requirements delivery, including planning, elicitation, analysis, documentation, management and support.
Responsibilities
- Manage Agile ceremonies alongside the Product Owner and assist with decomposing epics into user stories.
- Identify and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, business rules and data elements.
- Manage requirements risks, assumptions and constraints and communicate them to appropriate stakeholders.
- Lead stakeholder analysis, collaborative refinement sessions and walkthroughs with Technology, Product and Design teams.
- Maintain reusable requirements documentation in Confluence using enterprise standards.
- Collaborate on application UI pages with Product, Development, subject matter experts and UI/UX Design.
- Document test scenarios and provide ongoing requirements, build and testing support to developers.
- Apply coverage analysis from vision and epics through user stories, testing and implementation.
- Provide guidance and support to junior Business Analysts.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
- At least 2 years of experience on an Agile project.
- Independent experience gathering business and systems requirements.
- Experience with online banking or mobile banking.
- Strong requirements methodology knowledge across Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
- Experience with user stories, specifications, business context diagrams and business process maps.
- Experience working on large projects valued at more than $2 million.
- Experience facilitating sessions with 20 or more stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, adaptability and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of requirements documentation and modeling tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Jira or Confluence.
- University bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous RBC experience.
- Experience with accessibility requirements.
- Experience writing BDD feature files.
- Master's Certificate in Business Analysis.
- CBAP or PMI Professional in Business Analysis certification.
- Experience with digital mortgage projects or mortgage financing and approval.
