Perform business analysis activities on medium-to-large Digital projects within RBC's mortgage transformation program.
Own requirements delivery across planning, elicitation, analysis, documentation, management, and implementation support.
The role demonstrates advanced knowledge, handles complex situations, and guides other professionals.
Core responsibilities
- Manage Agile ceremonies alongside the Product Owner and decompose epics into user stories.
- Refine user stories with acceptance criteria, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, business rules, and data elements.
- Analyze stakeholders, facilitate refinement sessions, and support shared understanding across technology, product, and design teams.
- Maintain reusable requirements documentation in Confluence using enterprise standards.
- Document test scenarios and support developers with requirements, build, and testing activities.
- Apply coverage analysis from product vision through implementation and testing.
- Provide guidance and support to junior business analysts.
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
- At least 2 years of experience on an Agile project.
- Independent business and systems requirements gathering experience.
- Experience with online banking or mobile banking.
- Knowledge of requirements methods across Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
- Experience with user stories, specifications, business context diagrams, and process maps.
- Experience on projects valued at more than $2 million.
- Experience facilitating groups of 20 or more stakeholders.
- University bachelor's degree.
Required skills and tools
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical thinking, attention to detail, adaptability, and gap analysis skills.
- Knowledge of requirements documentation and modeling tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, JIRA, or Confluence.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous RBC experience and experience with accessibility requirements.
- Experience writing BDD feature files.
- Master's Certificate in Business Analysis.
- CBAP or PMI-PBA certification.
- Experience with digital mortgage projects, mortgage financing, or approval.
