Role Overview
The Senior Business Analyst supports medium-to-large digital projects within a mortgage transformation program.
The role demonstrates advanced business analysis capability, applies expertise in complex situations, and guides other professionals.
The role owns execution of requirements planning, elicitation, analysis, documentation, management, and support.
Requirements Delivery
- Manage Agile ceremonies alongside the Product Owner and help decompose epics into user stories.
- Refine user stories with acceptance criteria, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, business rules, and data elements.
- Manage requirements risks and perform stakeholder analysis.
- Lead refinement sessions and walkthroughs with Technology, Product, and Design teams.
Delivery and Testing Support
- Maintain reusable requirements documentation in Confluence using enterprise standards.
- Collaborate with Product, Development, subject matter experts, and UI/UX Design on application pages.
- Document test scenarios and support developers through requirements, build, and testing activities.
- Apply coverage analysis from vision through implementation.
Team Guidance
- Continually build knowledge of the organization, business, and information technology.
- Provide guidance and support to build the capabilities of junior business analysts.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst experience.
- At least two years of experience on an Agile project.
- Independent business and systems requirements gathering experience.
- Experience with online banking or mobile banking.
- Strong requirements methodology knowledge across Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
- Experience with user stories, specifications, business context diagrams, and process maps.
- Experience working on projects valued at more than $2 million.
- Experience facilitating groups of 20 or more stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of requirements documentation and modeling tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous RBC experience.
- Experience with accessibility requirements.
- Experience writing BDD feature files.
- Master’s Certificate in Business Analysis.
- CBAP or PMI Professional in Business Analysis certification.
- Experience with digital mortgage projects, mortgage financing, or mortgage approval.
