About the Role:

The Senior Analyst, SAR / CTR Filing is a filing specialist responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and e-filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) with FinCEN. Operating within a team, the Senior Analyst drafts examiner-ready SAR narratives, files CTRs, and performs continuing-activity reviews — including identifying continuing-activity reports from originally filed SARs — under the QA of the SAR Lead.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare and e-file SARs and CTRs with FinCEN accurately and within regulatory deadlines. • Author SAR narratives at examiner-ready standard, applying the OCC five-element documentation baseline and the Knowledgeable Third-Party Standard. • Perform continuing-activity reviews and file continuing-activity SARs on the 90-day cycle from originally filed reports. • Validate CTR data, manage exemptions where applicable, and ensure filing completeness and accuracy. • Maintain filing logs, tracking, and evidence to support audit and examination requests. • Coordinate with Cases and Complex Investigations on SARs surfaced from investigations and from external/consultant escalations. • Identify SAR filing trends and continuing-activity patterns; escalate observations to the SAR Lead.
  • What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent work experience considered. • CAMS preferred; if not held, expected to obtain within 12 months of hire. • 3–5 years of SAR drafting, CTR filing, or BSA/AML investigations experience. • Hands-on experience with FinCEN BSA E-Filing and case-management systems. • Working knowledge of SAR/CTR thresholds, continuing-activity requirements, and FinCEN guidance. • Advanced narrative-writing skills and precision in regulatory filing. • Strong attention to detail and deadline discipline. • Knowledge of SAR/CTR requirements and continuing-activity monitoring. • Working knowledge of Excel data analysis and SharePoint. • Collaborative and quality-focused orientation.
  • The responsibilities listed above are not all inclusive and may be changed at any time.
  • Salary range: $60,000 – $100,500
  • The salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this role. Individual pay within the range will be determined by multiple factors which can include but are not limited to a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary for your location during the hiring process. Ranges may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for an annual performance-based incentive opportunity. Pathward offers a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees, including health insurance, 401(k) retirement benefits, life insurance, disability benefits, paid time off, and more.
