Responsibilities
- Monitor global and regional sports trends, breaking news, and social media conversations to identify timely content opportunities
- Create and publish engaging digital content, including articles, explainers, galleries, and social posts
- Produce and edit short form videos for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and X
- Assist in conceptualising and executing social first content strategies around major sporting events and viral moments
- Write sharp, audience focused headlines and captions designed to maximise reach and engagement
- Attend sporting events, press conferences, and media opportunities when required
- Analyse content performance and contribute ideas to improve audience engagement and growth
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Journalism, Media, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of international and regional sports, including football, cricket, Formula 1, tennis, and other major sporting events
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and emerging digital content trends
- Basic video shooting and editing skills using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar platforms
- Ability to work in a fast paced newsroom environment and manage multiple deadlines
- Creative, proactive, and eager to experiment with new storytelling formats
