Job Overview
- Under supervision of Consultant Physician, diagnoses and treats patients according to best practice standards for Anesthesia (Pain Medicine).
Clinical Duties
- Assists Consultant Physician in supervising junior medical staff and assumes responsibility for their care.
- Complies with hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, and outpatient follow up.
- Practices appropriate utilization of organization's resources.
- Leads ward rounds; reassesses inpatients and outpatients regularly.
- Accurately documents all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion.
- Regularly reviews results of investigations and modifies treatment as required.
- Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input.
- Actively participates in multi disciplinary meetings for holistic patient care.
- Ensures preparation of patients for procedures including obtaining informed consent.
- Accepts clinically appropriate referrals from various sources.
- Participates in out of hours on call coverage on a rotational basis.
- Communicates clinical information to patients and families in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from recognized medical school.
- Completion of structured clinical residency or fellowship in Anesthesia/Pain Medicine.
- Minimum 2 3 years clinical experience post specialization.
- Valid DOH license or eligibility letter for Abu Dhabi.
- Current valid license from country of last practice.
- Certificate of Good Standing from relevant licensing authority.
- Successful completion of DOH licensing exam.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Arabic required.

- Supports quality improvement initiatives within the Division.
- Supports culture of regular audit and use of audit results for improving clinical practice.
- Supports reporting, investigation, and response to untoward incidents.
Education & Research
- Promotes and participates in clinical research and publication.
- Assists in instruction, guidance, and supervision of junior medical staff.
- Keeps abreast of current literature and latest trends and technologies.
- Participates in clinical research and publication.
